Garrison's Boston newspaper The Liberator declared slavery a national sin demanding repentance, not gradual schemes. He burned copies of the Constitution calling it "a covenant with death," partnered with formerly enslaved thinkers like Frederick Douglass (later falling out over tactics), and helped organize the American Anti-Slavery Society.
