The simple idea: postcard, not diary
Here is a way to remember it. A diary is private; you can write anything because only you will ever read it. A postcard is different: it travels through many hands, and anyone along the way could glance at it, so you would not write your deepest secrets on one.
Treat an AI chat like a postcard, not a diary. It is perfectly fine, even great, for schoolwork help, explanations, brainstorming, and practice. It is the wrong place for things you would not want stored, seen by a stranger, or kept somewhere you cannot reach. Once your words leave your device, you have essentially lost control of where they go, and you cannot truly take them back.
