Alexander Hamilton was an aide to George Washington during the Revolution and a delegate to the Constitutional Convention. As the first Secretary of the Treasury, he established the national bank, the U.S. Mint, and a system for managing the national debt. He co-authored The Federalist Papers and shaped the economic foundations of the new nation.
